Schaeffler (舍弗勒) has opened a 7,500-square-meter smart factory in Taicang for components used in next-generation humanoid robots. The company says the site combines smart assembly lines, scenario-based training and data capture, a digital-twin platform and a computing center.
The factory has begun mass production of joint modules, including actuators, for next-generation humanoid robots, Schaeffler said.
Schaeffler also said orders from two Chinese customers in the third quarter lifted the group’s total order value in humanoid robotics to €400 million.
